…There was a time, when Zbigniew Hubner decided to found a new theatrical venue in Warsaw and defined his Powszechny Theater as a theater built for the intelligentsia and located in the “Praga District”. In these new surroundings the dialogue, which the artist wanted to carry with his public sounded differently than in the safe enclaves of central Warsaw. He was open to a new reality, escaped from the threat of becoming just an elite entertainer of the higher classes. Today, the changing city once again seems to point towards the right bank of the River, viewing it as a space creating a specific climate, stimulating artistic creation. The recently founded Teatr Praga (former Teatr Nowy Praga), hosted by the Fabryka Trzciny Art Center, has the opportunity of becoming a neutral center of the newly being formed quartier. It can set the tone for this newly being built space.
